About our Feathers
Most of our feathers are collected from the grounds of Gold Blossom Farm where Chickens, Roosters, Ducks, Geese, Turkeys, and a Peacock named Geoffrey roam. The cats also occasionally bring small birds as well, and when that happens we harvest those feathers too. We also receive donations from friends and customers who have colorful pet birds or work in pet stores. Brandee also repurposes donated items such as unwanted or broken jewelry which sometimes contain beads made from shells and bones, gemstones, dyed feathers, etc. She also receives donations from time to time of old feather boas and craft feathers which she turns into new beautiful feather jewelry as well.
Peacocks have a lot of different types of feathers. Geoffrey is a male Indian Peafowl. All of his feathers have a greenish teal sheen in the right light. Here is a guide to the different types of feathers and where they are located on the bird:
